The English Springer Spaniel is #28 on the AKC list of Favorite Dog Breeds for 2013 and he is in the Sporting Group. The English Springer Spaniel got his name by the ability to run into an area and flush or "Spring" the game (mostly birds) into the air.  He loves to work, so if he is a home dog be aware that he wants long walks, runs and lots of ball playing time.
